    10,000 Korean Votes

    Starting in late July, AALAC published the first in what will be a weekly ad series in Korean print, online and television media to encourage Korean American eligible voters to register and vote in the 2014 elections and beyond. These ads will run up to the November mid-term elections and will be featured in Korean ethnic media that is viewed not only here but nationally and in South Korea.

    This American Votes 1st Voter Registration Blitz in August!

    Our 2014 mini-grantee partners hit the ground running on Saturday, August 23rd with our first coordinated Voter Registration Blitz of the year! Our ten partners worked with AALAC to man voter registration booths at 16 different sites in high immigrant and refugee areas in metro-Atlanta including locations in Clarkston, Doraville / Chamblee, Duluth, Norcross and Peachtree Corners.

 GA Driver License

Depriving DACA Recipients of their Licenses Hurts Everyone

Georgia Senate Bill 6 proposes to deprive current and future DACA and DAPA recipients from obtaining their Georgia driver licenses.  This bill will do the opposite of what the bill sponsor claims and instead increase the number of uninsured drivers on the road which decreases road safety and increases costs for insured drivers.  Read our Executive Director’s opinion piece: Georgia Legislator Fires Back at Obama.



Vote or Fight Trying

Mrs. Yi is one of hundreds of first-time voters we helped  in 2012.  After living in the U.S. for more than 30 years, Mrs. Yi finally gained her citizenship.  She properly registered  and drove to her poll site in November to vote in her first presidential election.  Despite bringing proper ID to the polls, Mrs. Yi was denied the right to vote.  Read more.
