Dr. Anar Parikh

Senior Policy Associate, ACLS Leading Edge Fellow

Anar Parikh is a senior policy associate at Advancing Justice-Atlanta. Her interest in issues of language access stem from her dissertation research on South Asian political engagement in Chicago, Illinois. For Anar, joining the team Advancing Justice - Atlanta is a sort of coming-together of her scholarly interests, political commitments, and roots as a South Asian American whose social justice commitments were bred in youth organizing spaces in Charlotte, NC (her hometown). Beyond the electoral sphere, Anar is invested in abolitionist, anti-Hindutva, and radical Black and Indigenous feminist approaches to liberation and social justice.

Anar has a bachelor's degree from Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, NY and an MA and PhD in cultural anthropology from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.
