Awonti Newaz

Litigation Paralegal

Awonti is Bengali and a first generation immigrant. Appreciating the work Advancing Justice-Atlanta has done for the Asian community, she wanted  to become a part of something that has the same beliefs as herself. Such as, helping minorities and representing those who are not fortunate enough to be heard.

She is also a recent graduate from the University of Central Florida, and majored in Social Science while minoring in Political Science (pre-law), Crime, Law & Deviance, and Psychology. Prior to Advancing Justice-Atlanta she worked for the 9th Judicial Circuit Public Defender's Office in Florida and interned for the Volunteer Lawyers Project based in Boston.

She also loves tea, cats, and traveling in her down time with her best friends!
