Atlanta, GA — On September 20, 2022, Asian Americans Advancing Justice-Atlanta and partner organizations will celebrate National Voter Registration Day by joining a massive cross-country effort to help register voters ahead of midterm elections.

Every eligible voter should have the option to exercise their right to be heard at the ballot box, and on National Voter Registration Day that starts with getting registered. Communities across the country, in all 50 states and D.C., are planning to use National Voter Registration Day to get registered and be #VoteReady.

2022 marks National Voter Registration Day’s 10th anniversary.

Thousands of national, state, and local organizations and volunteers will be the driving force behind National Voter Registration Day 2022. On September 20, Advancing Justice-Atlanta and partner organizations are hosting an event at Blackburn Park in Brookhaven, Georgia to engage our communities and help register voters, as well as provide free food, music, voter information, and activities. Everyone is welcome to this family friendly event.

“As we face critical times for our communities with the elections in 2022, we are working to build public awareness on the importance of AAPI, Latinx, and other immigrant voters in key areas,”says Berenice Rodriguez, Civic Engagement and Organizing Director at Asian Americans Advancing Justice-Atlanta. “As our community continues to grow in its electoral power, we will continue to help increase voter registration and voter turnout with in-language information to fight for everyone’s right to vote”.

As a nonpartisan celebration of democracy, National Voter Registration Day counts on partners and volunteers across the political spectrum. Started in 2012 for the presidential election, National Voter Registration Day is designed to create an annual moment when the entire nation focuses on registering Americans to exercise their most basic right – the right to vote.
