Atlanta, GA – On June 3, 2026, a broad coalition of community organizations, voting rights advocates, and community leaders will hold a joint press conference at the MLK Statue in Rodney Cook Park Sr Park to launch a coordinated, non-partisan election protection initiative.
On June 17, 2026 The Georgia General Assembly will hold a special legislative session to redraw political maps for the U.S. Congress and state legislative districts. Following gerrymandering efforts in other states such as Tennessee and Florida, this special session was triggered by the recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling that decimated the Voting Rights Act.
With critical elections approaching, representatives from several community groups will join together to outline plans to resist this partisan effort to undermine voting in Georgia. Speakers will address specific grass-roots strategies—including voter hotlines, poll monitoring, and community education—aimed at protecting vulnerable voting populations and ensuring a fair, accessible election for all.
