Non-Profit Civic Engagement Organizations Continue to Ensure Georgia’s Korean American Voters Are Ready For Midterm Election

Atlanta, Georgia, September 20, 2018 — On September 24, 2018 Asian Americans Advancing Justice-Atlanta, Center for Pan Asian Community Services, Korean American Coalition Atlanta, and The Korean American Association of Greater Atlanta will come together to ensure that Korean American voters are ready for upcoming midterm election ahead of National Voter Registration Day.

A press conference at the Korean American Association of Greater Atlanta with these local organizations will highlight the incredible importance of voter registration and participation. They will address the powerful impact of voting in the upcoming midterm election, and remind voters of this momentous opportunity to transform the circumstances of their daily lives and those of their communities. These organizations will furthermore call upon Korean Americans to take action and build power for Georgia’s Korean American community by registering to vote before the voter registration deadline on October 9th, and by voting in this fall’s election - one that has caught national attention for, among other reasons, being one of the few in which Asian Americans can be the deciding vote on federal and state levels.

To ensure that the Korean American communities’ voices will be heard in November, these organizations will also help register voters, educate community members regarding issues that impact them, provide in-language assistance throughout the election process, and protect voters from fraud and other illegal activities.

As part of the Georgia Immigrant Alliance for Civic Empowerment Coalition, Advancing Justice-Atlanta, CPACS, KAC, and KAAGA will continue their partnership to reach out to Korean Americans in Georgia to discuss the importance of voting and educate on voter empowerment.
