Resisting and Persisting for Voter Access: Report on Election Protection in 2024
Published by Asian Americans Advancing Justice-Atlanta and Anar Parikh, May 2025.
Since 2016, Asian Americans Advancing Justice-Atlanta’s Election protection program has been a core part of the organization’s efforts to protect voting rights and expand access to the polls for Asian American and other immigrant voters in Georgia.
In 2024, this program involved more than 110 poll monitors to observe 67 polling locations across eight counties in metro-Atlanta and North Georgia. Amidst constant threats to voting rights in Georgia and across the U.S. this report captures voting conditions at polling sites in diverse communities across Georgia and highlights specific observations concerning language accessibility, voter status, intimidation and harassment and general voting conditions.
Keeping in mind the need to protect voting rights and combat the renewed threat of large-scale disenfranchisement of immigrant and other marginalized voters, we offer solutions to protect voting rights, strengthen poll worker training, and ensure language access and equity for language minority voters.
